Minnesota SAR

In July the SAR National Congress voted to increase application fees by 50%. At the national level a $100 application costs $150 as of September 1. If you submit 2 or more applications on the “Family Plan,” in which the applications all name the same patriot on the same lineage, the subsequent applications cost $75 each, an increase of $35. To this we add our state application fees as described below.

Last year the State Society voted to increase state and chapter dues by a total of $5 per year, starting October 1. We also increased application fees to $20 for new applications and $10 for supplementals.

Renewal Cost – before 1 October 2024

• National Dues: $50
• State Dues: $6
• Chapter Dues: $6
• TOTAL: $62

To meet the 1 October deadline, the payment should be by mail and postmarked by 1 October, or by PayPal and dated by 1 October.

• State Dues: $9
• Chapter Dues: $8

Supplemental Application Cost

• National Fee: $150 ($75 on Family Plan)
• State Fee: $10
• TOTAL: $160

The State Society charges a lower fee for supplementals than for new member applications, since we want to encourage members to apply for supplemental ancestors.

Family Plan pricing applies when you send a batch of 2 or more applications for relatives (sons, uncles, fathers, grandfathers) naming the same patriot and using the same lineage. The first application still costs full price.

If the new member application is rejected by the genealogical staff at National, the applicant may substitute a different lineage and/or patriot and try again. If the applicant withdraws the application, all dues are supposed to be refunded. Application fees are not refunded.
