We regret to report that our compatriot Daniel Latham, 76, passed away on Thanksgiving Day last month, following a 6-year struggle with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease).
According to his online obituary, Dan was born in 1948 and was raised in Richfield, graduating from Richfield High School. He earned the B.S. degree in chemical engineering at the University of Minnesota and then served in the U.S. Army. Following his service, he worked as an engineer and attended the Carlson School of Management and then the UMN Law School. Following law school he practiced as a patent attorney until retiring in 2004.
Dan was also an avid genealogist. He and his wife were both descendants of John Alden of the Mayflower. He was a member of the Mayflower Society and the Alden Kindred of America as well as the Minnesota SAR.
