Who needs to renew
Regular and junior members must pay renewal fees every year, unless they have purchased a life membership.
Members who first joined this year must pay renewal fees, unless their membership was approved on or after September 1 of this year.
Renewal notices: paper versus email
We rely heavily on electronic mail and online payments to collect dues. Every member who has a working email listed with the SAR receives renewal notices via email. Check your junk mail folder, too.
Members without an email address will receive announcements by mail in November.
Fees to Renew
- $67 for regular members
- $17 for dual members whose primary membership is with a different State Society
- $5 for junior members (not yet 18)
- $75 for regular members registered with two chapters
New members registered after September 1, 2025 do not need to pay 2026 dues. All other members, except life members, must pay annual dues.
Self renewal
Identify the renewal fee you personally owe, and follow the instructions below for payments.
Renewing two or more members
If you are renewing by check, be sure to list the full names of every member being renewed. Include SAR member numbers if you have them. Mail the check and the list of members to the Treasurer. Click Here for the mailing address.
If you wish to pay online, please email the treasurer a list of the full names of every member being renewed. Include SAR member numbers if you have them.
Payments: mail or online
By mail: Send your payment to the Treasurer. Click Here for the mailing address.
Online: Pay through this link, either with a credit card or a PayPal account – https://www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted_button_id=SPN4Z8H8RQRVA
Deadline
December 31, 2025.
The treasurer reports the renewals to the national office in a “reconciliation.” All payments received by the deadline are included in the reconciliation.
Renewals that arrive too late will be marked as “dropped” by the national office.
The State Society reinstates members if they send their late renewal within several months of the deadline. Otherwise the dropped member must submit an application for reinstatement.
Life Membership
The Minnesota SAR offers a complete life membership program that includes chapter, state, and national membership. The cost decreases as the member’s age increases.
Contact the state treasurer for information about life membership, or download the form from the groups.io site. Life memberships must be submitted through the State Society.
