All Entrants — SAR Certificate of Recognition and Patch
Each Eagle Scout who enters the contest receives an SAR Eagle Scout Certificate of Recognition and the SAR Contest Patch.

SAR Chapter Winners — Bronze Eagle Scout Medal
All entries will be judged to determine the Minneapolis and Saint Paul SAR Chapter winners. The winner for each chapterl will be presented with an SAR Bronze Eagle Scout Medal in recognition of this accomplishment.

State Winner — Spreading Wings Desk-Top Eagle Trophy
Chapter winners will be judged in a statewide competition to select the Minnesota SAR winner. The Minnesota winner will be invited, with his parents, to attend the annual SAR George Washington Day observance and luncheon in February. There he will be recognized, presented with the State Eagle Trophy, and receive a $300 cash award.

National Winner — $10,000 Scholarship and Trip
The Minnesota SAR winner’s application and patriotic essay will be submitted to the National Society SAR as a candidate for national awards, the highest of which is a $10,000 scholarship and trip to the SAR National Congress (annual convention) in July. National runners-up receive awards from $6,000 for 2nd place to $200 for 15th place.

Minnesota State Trophy winners have won the $10,000 award many times.
