Obituary: Kevin Sleen

We regret to report that compatriot Kevin Randolph Sleen, Jr., 51, died unexpectedly last winter on February 26, 2022. A memorial service was held on Friday, March 4, at the Peace in Christ Lutheran Church, Hermantown, MN. Kevin’s SAR membership was registered in 2021.

According to his obituary, Kevin served in the military for 22 years between the Army, the Air Force, and the Air National Guard. He was activated on 9/11 to support Operation Noble Eagle, and deployed in the Mideast during Operation Iraqi Freedom. He retired from the Air Force in 2012 and worked in the mining and pipeline industries, focusing on quality assurance.

Kevin and his wife Patty raised a family of 10 children (6 adopted) and he was working on his doctoral dissertation at the time of his passing.
